Summer holiday thanks…

I haven’t blogged much this year, but one thing I did want to document was how fab the summer holidays were this year… in more ways than one. Continue reading

I’m back and here’s a little catch up…

Branksome Chine beach

Gosh it’s been a long old time since my last blog post and I think the longer you leave it the harder it is to get back on and post.

But here I am after a little break… lots of things have happened, but it’s all good and I want to get back into posting regularly on my little blog.  I want this to be my on-line journal where all our special family memories, my thoughts, feelings and inspirations are captured and can be looked back on in years to come.

I received a notification from WordPress that my annual renewal was due, and if not renewed my blog could be deleted.  Yikes, all gone!  So this is what really prompted me into thinking ‘come on girl, get your act together, otherwise there’s gonna be a whole big part of your life missing on this ole blog of mine‘.  So here I am.

Christmas came and went in a flurry and we celebrated New Year’s Eve with some lovely friends.  It’ll soon be Easter and I’m feeling quite festive (if you can feel festive about Easter) and looking forward to a bit of time off with the family.  Oh and there’ll be chocolate eggs of course too – though not too many for me!!

But what I’m really looking forward to is – – – SPRING!  I can’t wait!  Leading on to some lovely summer months; pleeeease.

So looking forward to getting our garden sorted and being able to sit out and enjoy it – bring it on Mr Lovely Weather.

Last weekend we headed down to our beach hut and it was bliss.  It was a sunny day and in the shelter was really quite warm.  I even fell asleep in the sunshine on the balcony.  So, I’m planning to spend more time there this year.  If it’s looking like a nice day, I’m gonna pack up my bag, grab Kipster and head off for a chill at my little beach haven.  It’s such a beautiful place to be.

For now, I’ll leave you with some pics taken down at the beach to give us all a flavour of hopefully what is to come.

Hope you’re all good and wishing you a wonderful weekend.

It’s MrD’s birthday tomorrow, so we’re off out for a nice birthday breakfast.

My Thursday thought… #7

My Thursday thought

Each Thursday I like to share my Thursday thought with you.

This could be in the form of a special quote I’ve found, or a saying or passage of text or something similar that I feel compelled to share for some reason or another.

There will definitely be silly, funny and far fetched ones thrown in, but if it strikes a chord with me it’ll be popping up somewhere along the line.

It goes without saying that there will obviously be lots of sparkly ones too.

I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Sandbanks Thursday thought

Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth…

Oh my goodness what wise words we should listen to, but often get knocked for six if someone (especially if they are close to us) don’t get us.

A great reminder and one we should hold on to each and every day.

I hope you like this week’s Thursday thought.

Have a great day.

My week in pictures #18

I’m here just a day late with ‘My week in pictures‘.

This is where, in a bid to take more photos, I set myself a little challenge to take at least one photo each day in an attempt to capture simple every day moments – those little moments that are sometimes forgotten and overlooked.  Sometimes the littlest things can actually turn out to be the most special.

I then choose one for each day and share them with you as a little peek into how my week panned out.  It’s my weekly visual feast.

I’m also over on Instagram where more of my daily photos appear – you can take a look at my gallery and follow me here if you like.

So here’s last week’s which commenced Monday, 5 October and photos go from top to bottom, left to right:

weekly collage

Monday:  MrD and I had a trip to West Quay in Southampton – strangely I was sat outside the men’s changing room in John Lewis!!  Make out of that what you will!

Tuesday:  Lunch at the gorgeous Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington – thoroughly recommended.

Wednesday:  Time for the autumn nails and scarves to make an appearance.  Loving this colour too.

Thursday:  MrD and I, oh and the pooch, had a gorgeous walk along the beach to Sandbanks.  The weather was great and I got some really nice pics on my phone – should have taken my big camera, grrrr!  You can read my a daycation to Sandbanks in Poole post for more pics.

Friday:  I received a Christmas bouquet from the lovely people at Prestige Flowers – yes you read that right, a Christmas bouquet.  Look out for a review post coming up on them soon.

Saturday:  My gorgeous MasterB who for once, let me take some quick (and I mean quick) snaps of him when out on a walk.

Sunday:  Ooops it was chocolates and a glass of good old Blush Sunday night whilst watching the tv.

Awwwww it was a great week all in all last week – MrD and I had some time off together and so it was all about spending quality time together.  Lovely – thank you.

Have a great week.

A daycation to Sandbanks in Poole

This is going to be a slightly picture top-heavy post.

Mostly because MrD and I had the chance for a wonderful walk down at Sandbanks beach yesterday and the weather was soooo kind to us, I took over 40 photos on my phone.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to share 40 with you.  Just a few, because I’d be selfish keeping them to myself if I didn’t!!

This is at the top of the zig zag at Branksome Chine looking towards the Purbecks in the distance.

Branksome beach

That’s Old Harry Rocks right at the end.  You can actually walk there by going over to Studland on the old fashioned chain ferry at Sandbanks and walking right the way along.  Yesterday wasn’t a day for that though *phew*.

Looking back towards Bournemouth with the Isle of Wight in the distance.

that sky

I just love the sky in these pictures – it’s quite dramatic.

that sky again

It really was quite hot on our walk – such a gorgeous early October day.

a fisherman

There was a lone fisherman on the beach.

We walked along holding hands (in between throwing the ball for Kipster) enjoying every moment of the sunshine on our faces.

Of course we had to reward ourselves with a spot of lunch at The Jazz Cafe at Sandbanks.  It was nice to just sit outside in the sun watching the world (and his dog) go by.

Lifeguards on the beach

No walk would be complete without me snapping some pics of the happy pooch…

Kipster in the sea

Kipster on the sand

She was a very happy girlie indeed.

Kipster rolling in the sand

This is the life … aaaahhhhh bliss.

Kipster

Aren’t we lucky?  And what a bonus for an October day.

two people walking on the beach

I love this picture too.  I have no idea who those two people are, but thank you for being in the right place at the right time  (right in the middle of my shot as I took it) – perfect!

Do you have a special place you like to go for a walk?

My Thursday thought

Be the type of person that you want to meet

I really love this and I like this way of thinking.

I’d like to think (for the most part) that I’m the kind of person I’d really like to meet and get to know and even be friends with.  It’s certainly something to aspire to and so that’s why this week I’ve chosen this one.

The image is my own and was taken today at Sandbanks beach.  It was the most glorious day and MrD and I had a lovely stroll along this totally gorgeous beach that we are lucky enough to live near.  It stretches on for miles and miles.  Kipster enjoyed lots of ball throwing so she was a happy girlie too.

I hope you enjoy my Thursday thought for this week.

As this image is my own I will be pinning it to my ‘Words’ board over on Pinterest where you can follow me.
