I’ve missed a couple of weeks due to being away on holiday, but I’m pleased to be back this week with …

My Captured Moment #22

Barnaby on the train to London

Apologies if you spotted this one on my blog already, but it’s my absolutely most favourite pic of MasterB at the moment.

This was taken on his birthday as we were heading into London for a few days.

Here’s another taken at the same time…

Barnaby on the train to London 2

Oh man, can’t believe this gorgeous boy of mine is 11.

I’m so utterly proud of him each and every day and he makes my heart melt with love.

How lucky we are to have him.

I hope you like my extremely special captured moments this week.

My Captured Moment #21

MasterB with face paints

This was taken when MasterB was two and half and it was the very first time he’d ever had his face painted.

MasterB with face painted

Oh my goodness I cannot believe how utterly gorgeous he was (and obviously still is; but oooooh those curls).

MasterB face painted

How cute is that button nose too.

I remember the day clearly – it was a fun day in Poole Park with a bouncy castle and coconut shy and he was so excited by everything that was going on.

Definitely one of my special and treasured captured moments.

My Captured Moment #20

Barnaby Christening day

Oh my goodness, my two gorgeous boys.

This was in fact MasterB’s Christening Day – he was ten months old and it was the most beautiful August day.

How totally scrummy does he look in his Christian Dior outfit (I still have this hanging in the wardrobe and don’t think I’ll ever be able to part with it).

He was an angel boy all day and didn’t cry once.  I think he was a little over-whelmed by the day though (check out his face) and certainly wasn’t too impressed when the vicar rather enthusiastically wetted his head.

We had a garden party after and everything went so smoothly – we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.

It’s a wonderful memory and a perfect captured moment of daddy holding his boy.

My Captured Moment #19

in his cot for the first time

This might not look like much, apart from a beautifully decorated nursery, but this was in fact the very first time that baby MasterB was put in his big boy cot for a nap.

Like all new borns he spent a lot of time in his mummy’s arms – I used to adore just sitting holding him and gazing at my amazing and beautiful babe – or in his carry-cot (we had a Silver Cross pram that doubled as a carry-cot so there was no need for a moses basket).

But the time came when I thought he needed to get a bit more used to his big boy cot and so on afternoon nap time I put him in his sleeping bag (best baby invention every #justsaying) and lay him down.

I couldn’t believe it but there was no fussing and he pretty much went soundo straight away.

I snuck in and took this adorable photo of him snoozing away – his very first sleep in his cot.

So sweet.

This again is definitely a very special #MyCapturedMoment for me.

Barnaby crawling

Barnaby crawling

This was when a certain young man decided he could crawl… and rather liked it.

He was off on a little mission – to the kitchen.

There was something in there that was attracting his attention.

Barnaby crawling

the washing machine

He loved that washing machine.

Funny isn’t it, I don’t know what the fascination is for little ones and washing machines but a lot of them seem to have it and MasterB was one of them.

He was so cute, if a little late and lazy, when he first started crawling and so I can remember it well bless his little heart.

These little snaps are definitely captured moments that I will always treasure.

Do you remember when your little one started crawling?

Ready steady go

Ready – Steady – Go!

Barnaby and Kipster in the garden

How adorable are these two.

Kipster and Barnaby

These shots were taken after we had just picked up our gorgeous little Border Terrier puppy, Kipster.  We headed straight out to the garden to see if she would perform any little jobs for us (which of course she didn’t) and I just love how MasterB interacted with her.  It was so sweet to watch.

These really are special moments in time and I’m so glad we captured them.

My Captured Moment #16

MasterB on holiday

I completely adore this photo of our gorgeous boy – he’s soooo smiley and sooooooooo happy!

This was taken back in March 2007 when we were holidaying down in Bodmin at Glynn Barton Cottages where we had the most wonderful holiday.

This particular picture was taken in the playroom where there was a pool table (Master B’s first experience of a pool table and he loved just chasing the balls around the table) and board games, puzzles, books, lego, cars, a doll’s house, videos (as they were back then) and lots lots more fun things.

He absolutely loved it and every day, no matter how busy we had been during the day, we had to pop over to the playroom for a bit.

Definitely one of my cherished captured moments.

This week’s was an easy one to choose because it’s going back to school time.

For some it’s the start of school and for others it’s moving up a year or going on to the next school – such a momentous time for children and parents alike.

My Captured Moment #15

first day of school

Wow, here’s my incredibly big boy on his very first day of first school.  How scrummy and yummy does he look with his brand spanking new uniform and shiny shoes.

I remember the day well, even though it was six years ago and going into his seventh year of school (year 6) – he started off with just mornings for a couple of weeks before going full-time.

I dropped him off holding back the tears and went for a much needed coffee with two other mums – all we talked about, of course, was our little ones and wondering how they were getting on.  They were, of course, getting on just fine.

Can’t believe how fast time goes – it’s back to school tomorrow for MasterB and year 6 here we come!

My Captured Moment #14

Barnaby and mummy

December 2007 – we had a mini photo-shoot and this was one of the captures of my darling boy and me.  He was a little bit nervous and initially wasn’t very forthcoming for the photographer, so hence me having to get involved with the pictures.

After a little while he got a bit more confident and we got some lovely photos.

I have this picture of us framed in our bedroom and I look at it every day.  It’s one of my favourites.

I hope you enjoyed my captured moment this week.

My Captured Moment #13

6th birthday party

Apologies that this isn’t the best quality picture, but never-the-less I love it.

It had been MasterB’s 6th birthday party which had a Halloween theme (his birthday being late October).  We had over 30 zombies, witches, skeletons, cob webs and spiders running around our local hall.

They had a great party with a magician thrown in who completely free-wheeled and took on board the whole Halloween theme – well done Mr Merlin.

I adore this photo of B with his lil pal MissE as they followed each other around after the party collecting up all the balloons.  You can almost feel their sadness that the party is finished but they’re determined to take as many balloons home as possible as a special memento.

How totally adorable are they both.

For a bit of fun, here’s me dressed up for the occasion – – – and trust me this doesn’t happen often!!

I hope you enjoyed my captured moment this week.

I knew straight away where this one was … it’s on our holidays in Menorca June 2010.

My Captured Moment #12

Menorca holidays

I just love this photo of MasterB – we were sat around our pool after an afternoon of playing and sunbathing and munching on fresh gorgeous and juicy strawberries.

He was in a lovely mood and playing around dancing for me whilst eating his yummy strawberries. He’d grabbed my hat and was parading around in it showing off – so sweet and innocent.

Just look at those gorgeous baby teeth and that smile *sighs*.

Lovely memories that will always stay with me.

I hope you like my captured moment this time.

Have a great day.

Lets play jenga...

Jenga...

Jenga

I absolutely fell in love with these pictures when I downloaded them from my camera – my two boys; MrD and MasterB.  These really make me smile every time I look at them.

The boys playing jenga

We were lucky enough to attend a family wedding at the weekend where the ‘party’ was held in a huge field with a marquee and games – giant Jenga being one of them and the boys couldn’t wait to have a play.

It was a truly lovely day and I managed to snap away and take lots of lovely photos (I shall share some of these in a separate blog post), but for this captured moment I wanted to share these of my boys.

My Captured Moment #10

The wedding

The wedding

Awww I love this – clearly a deep conversation going on between daddy and son.

The wedding

… and they’re off.

These photos were taken at MrD’s sister’s wedding three years ago.  It was a March wedding and it was an absolute stunner of a day; it just got hotter and hotter as the day went on.  In fact I’d bought a new jacket to wear when we were in Milan and couldn’t even wear it that day as the weather was so unseasonably hot.  British weather eh?!

After the ceremony MrD and MasterB had a little mooch down by the river whilst the official photos were being taken.  I happened to catch these ones and I just love this little series of pics.

They’ve got such a bond and it shines out in these photos and every time I see them I smile.  How could I not?

It was a gorgeous wedding – made even better by Steve Backshall (yes you read that correctly ladies!!) coming to the evening party!!!  Made my day anyway…!!

MasterB even had his picture taken with his then hero as he avidly watched Deadly 60, so here’s a bonus pic from that day.

Vivitar

MasterB looking a little star struck bless him!

I love these pictures and hope you like them too.

Have a great day.
